CLEANING AND RESTORATION OF MONUMENTAL STAIRCASE
After fire large walls of Monumental Staircase presented with several problems among which we highlight the presence of soot, physical degradation of parts of the stone, especially in Lioz Rosa, and cracking a few coats.
The intervention consisted substantially of the following:
• cleaning of the stone by nebulization at low pressure.
• Pre-consolidation surfaces with a solution of ethyl silicate
• Washing with detergent action of the alkaline base and subsequent brushing the surface with nylon brushes with soft bristles.
• Fill gaps volumetric lafarge with lime mortar and stone powder the color shown.
• Consolidation of surfaces using solution hidrorrepelente, ethyl silicate and algaecide specifically dosed in percentages and calculated taking into account the type of stone and the future use of space.
